I was born 1963 in Dueren. 1994 I graduated (M.A.) from the Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule (RWTH) Aachen in German and English philology. Since 1995 I am working as a communications advisor, focused on strategic communications at the interface of economics, politics and society. In 2008/2009 I finished my post-graduate studies in "Curating" at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (zhdk). Between 2010 and 2013 I ran "von cirne", a gallery for contemporary art in Cologne.
How to be modern today?
I would very much enjoy discussing questions I am concerned with from two different perspectives. As an art curator and art lover I ask myself how modernity can (adequately) be reflected in contemporary art: Is there (still) an end to any linearity in art history, mashing up anything from anytime from analog or digital contexts? Or is there a chance in an aesthetic progress going beyond any post-post-…ism? And as a strategic communications advisor I ask myself: Is disruption the new modernity?
