How to be modern today?
Although the places and techniques certainly have shifted, Bob Dylan still has a solid answer to the question on what it is like to be modern today: "In the dime stores and bus stations / People talk of situations / Read books, repeat quotations / Draw conclusions on the wall."
The ever-changing state of "being modern" is not to explain without taking the use of media (Mediengebrauch) and its principles of actualization (Aktualisieren) and circulation (Verbreiten) into consideration.
